By 2015, our partnership with the Levitt Shell had grown into a fully realized creative relationship. What began as concert poster artwork had expanded into a full-season campaign that touched nearly every aspect of the Shell’s communication—from merchandise and signage to fundraising materials and sponsor engagement. This year’s concept focused on the magnetic energy of the venue and the community it brings together.
The campaign artwork featured silhouetted concertgoers—standing on shoulders, rooftops, and cars—trying to get a glimpse of the stage, with the Shell radiating light like the sun. This imagery was extended across billboards, calendars, invitations, stage art, apparel, and environmental signage. The visuals captured the excitement and vibrancy of a Shell concert and helped make each touchpoint feel like a piece of Memphis culture.
The campaign’s impact extended beyond audiences—key partners took notice. Orion Federal Credit Union, the Shell’s title sponsor, was proud to have its brand represented alongside the work. That alignment elevated their presence and contributed to a sponsorship relationship that has lasted over a decade.

“Josh also lead the designs for the visual themes for our 2013 and 2015 concert seasons, creating artwork that was used across signage, marketing campaigns, and merchandise. These designs became community touchpoints—people proudly wore the merchandise, posted photos with our signage, and celebrated their connection to the Shell. The art reflected the energy and vibrancy of our mission, and helped us increase visibility in the community in a way that felt joyful and authentic.”
